Yedlin set to depart after Spurs complete Trippier medical

Trippier deal done could mean Yedlin's off to Norwich

Earlier today Sean Dyche confirmed that the deal to bring Kieran Trippier to White Hart Lane was in the works. But now it looks like the deal is nearing the finish line.

According to Telegraph reporter John Percy, Trippier has completed his Spurs medical and will be signing shortly. News of this deal has been rumbling along for some time now, and like the Kevin Wimmer deal a few weeks ago, this basically just confirms what we all expected to happen all along.

The more interesting tidbit contained in the tweet concerns the fate of American speedster DeAndre Yedlin. Apparently he's set to become a Canary.

Mauricio Pochettino has spent the last six months with Yedlin letting him grow accustomed to life in the Premier League. The right back has only made on brief cameo appearance, and Poche seemed reluctant to give him a baptism by fire, preferring to let him settle before giving him a chance (no matter how desperately we needed a right back).

Now it seems that the coach still isn't ready to put his faith in the American. If Yedlin still hasn't convinced Pochettino to make him his first choice right back, a year on loan at Norwich could be just the thing to finally get him up to speed in the rough-and-tumble world of the EPL and prove he's got what it takes to succeed at Spurs.

After all, it was only a few seasons ago that another burgeoning right back went on loan from Spurs to Norwich, nailed down a starting spot, and came back ready to contribute to the first team. If Kyle Naughton's career is anything to go by, Yedlin's in safe hands.
