Happy Thursday, Spurs fans. Only thirteen more days until Tottenham kicks preseason off with a trip to Colorado to face the MLS All Stars, as well as Gerrard and Lampard. In the meantime, keep on refreshing Twitter and NewsNow in a desperate attempt for any scrap of Spurs gossip. I'm sure we'll sign a midfielder one of these days.
While you idiots were too busy watching the Espys, the CONCACAF Gold Cup turned in one of the best halfs of football I've ever witnessed. In the 54th minute, Mexico were up 2-0 and cruising to the top of their group. But Kenwyne Jones and the Soca Warriors would not be denied, and fifteen minutes later they had taken a 3-2 lead. Mexico needed a win to top the group, and miraculously scored two late goals in the 88th and 90th minutes to break the hearts of everyone watching. But with the last kick of the game, amidst a torrent of garbage pelting down from the stands, T&T scored a last gasp equalizer with the final kick of the game. Check out the goals and hate yourself for missing this one.
Hendrik Almstadt, specialist in data and analytics, has taken over as Aston Villa's new sporting director. So unless his favorite stat is "30 yard strike into row z," we're probably not going to convince them to take Andros Townsend.
Why on earth would these three clubs be seriously competing for the same player? This is dumb and stupid and will not happen.
Nacer Chadli makes up his own chant for himself'm sure you've seen this by now, but I literally cannot get it out of my head. I find myself humming it at all hours of the day, at work or at home. While I still don't think he can pass the ball, it's safe to say I've finally fallen for our man-bunned Belgium.
