Future midfield star pledges his future to Tottenham Hotspur

One of Tottenham's more promising youth prospects is getting a new deal. And it's not Nabil Bentaleb.

According to ESPN and as mentioned in this morning's Hoddle of Coffee, young midfielder Harry Winks is set to pledge his future to Tottenham Hotspur by signing a new long-term contract with the club. The young central midfielder had an excellent 2014-15 season that saw him make his first team debut and begin training regularly with the Tottenham first team.

The article is short on details about the new contract and doesn't mention the length of the deal, the wages, or when the contract is set to be signed and announced, so as always take this report with a grain of salt until the club makes a formal announcement. However, young players like Winks who are both promising and homegrown are exactly the kinds of footballers whom Spurs should be offering contracts to, so this is pretty exciting news.

Winks, 19, was a U21 regular for Spurs this season and made his Tottenham first team debut as a substitute against FK Partizan in the Europa League last year. He's also capped at the England U17, U18, and U19 levels.
