Hey there Spurs fans! With the World Cup and Copa America ending, did you think that was the end of the international football this summer? WELL YOU'RE WRONG. Tonight the Gold Cup kicks off, and if you're a fan of Tottenham Hotspur you'll want to tune in. Why? Because DeAndre Yedlin is expected to play a huge role in Team USA's fortunes as they seek to win their second consecutive Gold Cup.
For our non-American readers, the Gold Cup is the North/Central American version of the EURO Championships. Should the USA win the competition, they'll automatically qualify to play in the 2017 Confederation's Cup in Russia. Should someone other than the USA win, that team will play the USA (2013 Gold Cup winners) in a playoff to determine who goes to Russia.
USA manager Jurgen Klinsmann has been playing Yedlin as a right sided midfielder lately instead of his more customary right back position, and he's been terrorizing opposition left backs. He's expected to start there again tonight against Honduras.
This here is your open thread for the match.
