A new season means we, here at Cartilage Free Captain, get to try some new things. One major the folks on the masthead discussed over the summer was having a way to track fan opinion and player performance throughout the season. We wanted to know if Nabil Bentaleb had really been awesome all season, or if we just had some weird recency bias. So, we have shamelessly stolen the Community Player Ratings post from SB Nation's Chelsea blog We Ain't Got No History. They've been doing this for a while and they do some cool stuff with the data.
So, following Tottenham's 1-0 loss to Manchester United, you get to rate the players. There's no real rules to this. You can rate them based on whatever criteria you want. Maybe you want to rate the players on body language or distance covered or even just plain old performance. Whatever you do, just remember that a 1 is bad and a 10 is good.
