You can add another player to the list of Tottenham Hotspur bids being turned down. According to the Daily Mail, Spurs offered £15 million for West Ham United midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate only to have that bid rejected on the spot.
We learned of interest in the player yesterday when The Sun reported that Spurs were looking at Kouyate to improve their midfield depth.
West Ham have apparently told Spurs that Kouyate is not for sale at any price. We'll see if Tottenham increase their offer and if the Hammers stand by that statement.
It's no secret that the club have explored many different midfield transfer targets only to see their efforts come up short. There are still several hours left for Spurs to complete a deal with someone. However, with Eric Dier starting the season off strong it appears that it's not an absolute must to sign someone before the window closes.
