I bet you thought you weren't going to hear anything about Tottenham Hotspur's continued pursuit of Saido Berahino today. Then again, maybe it was all you expected to hear about. If it was the latter, then you are correct. The London Evening Standard are reporting that Spurs and Berahino's current club, West Bromwich Albion are set to re-open transfer discussions today.
This has been a long an excruciating saga, which has seen the West Midlands club reject two different offers from Spurs for the England U-21 striker and then public criticize Tottenham for their handling of the deal. Many thought that the signing of Son Heung-Min signaled the end of Spurs' attempts to sign Berahino, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
Berahino seems to be very much in favor of a move and hasn't featured for West Brom in recent weeks, however, Daniel Levy and Tottenham will probably have to raise their offer considerable or pay the entire price up front as opposed to offering an incentive laden deal. This deal is probably going to go down to the wire. Buckle up everyone.
