Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood sure is familiar with Tottenham Hotspur players, and as the clock ticks away on what's left of the transfer window a new connection has emerged from the wilds. Spurs-connected journo Tom Collomosse is reporting that there's a chance that Andros Townsend could be heading to Villa Park on loan.
There is a possibility of Townsend to #avfc on loan but no more than that. #thfc

Andros hasn't had the best start to the season, though it's not all his fault. He's been dealing with shoulder and ankle injuries in recent weeks that he picked up in training and as a consequence has yet to feature in any Spurs match in the early part of this season. In fact, I'm not sure he's played any competitive football since the Euro qualifiers early in the summer. He's healthy now, but he appears to be pretty far down the pecking order for Pochettino at present.
A loan might make a lot of sense for both Villa and Townsend. Andros has been linked away from Spurs on and off throughout the summer, but nothing serious has emerged. At Villa he'll be working with a manager that helped develop him and knows his strengths and weaknesses very well. But there isn't much time left to make this happen.
