Aaron Lennon set for permanent transfer to Everton

This looks like it's nearly in the can.

Here's a rumor that looks very, very close to completion. According to Lyall Thomas on Twitter, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are very close to a deal that will send exiled winger Aaron Lennon to the blue side of Liverpool on a permanent transfer.

We figured this would happen, and it's by far the most likely place for Lennon to land. His shirt number was given to Son Heung-Min and he has no shot of playing for Spurs, but he's coming off of a successful loan stint with Everton and the Toffee fans absolutely loved him. £4.5m isn't too bad a deal for a 28 year old player whom we no longer want around.

On a personal note, I'll still be sad to see Lennon go as he was involved in some of my favorite Tottenham Hotspur memories as a fan, but his time at Tottenham has passed.
