The last Tottenham fullback that went on loan to Sunderland (Danny Rose) turned out alright, so hopefully this deal works out will for both Yedlin and the Black Cats. Sunderland have been playing Billy Jones at right back and the 28 year-old has done little to impress manager Dick Advocaat. Yedlin would offer Sudnerland some much needed pace on the wings to aid their counterattack.
This seems like a great deal for Spurs. Yedlin gets some playing time at a Premier League club, one with limited options at his positions and gets to play for a pretty well regarded manager. Hopefully, Yedl;in has a good season and comes back to Spurs next summer ready to compete for a role in the team. Good luck, DeAndre!
