It's a North London Derby day. So let's meditate a little beforehand.

Happy Thursday, Spurs fans! We know what today is. It's a big day. If this were a normal year, we'd be facing off against the likes of a League 1 or 2 side in the third round of the Capital One Cup, we'd have the kids prepped to play, and we'd be concentrating on Manchester City on Saturday.

But this is not a usual year. Instead the narrative gods have "gifted" us a North London Derby match against Arsenal, and all the pageantry, anticipation, and angst that goes along with it. It's exciting, but I wouldn't ever say that it's fun.

We're all going to get very amped up here in a few hours when the match starts. Some of you will be heading to pubs and bars to watch with like-minded fans. Others (like me) will need to surreptitiously sneak glances at the screen during the work day and watch in depth afterwards. It's going to be exhilarating, and nerve-wracking, and panic-inducing. Because it's Arsenal.

So this morning, let's take some time to meditate. Let's slow down and breathe, take in the wholeness of life, and let everything go. I have the perfect music for it, too.
