Tottenham Hotspur dropped a heartbreaker at White Hart Lane against Leicester City on Wednesday, losing 1-0 in a match that was hugely important to both clubs' aspirations for Champions League qualification. Harry Kane had a low shot deflected by Kasper Schmiechel and off the crossbar for Spurs, and while Tottenham won the possession and shots battle over their league opponents, it was Leicester who came away with the three points after Robert Huth put a thunderous header past Hugo Lloris late in the match.
It was an exciting and open match, fun for the neutrals but nerve-wracking for both sets of supporters. Despite the loss, Spurs are still in fourth place but are just a point above West Ham and have now lost their cushion. Spurs will attempt to rebound against Sunderland at White Hart Lane this Saturday at 12:45 p.m. (7:45 a.m. ET).
