Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in the Premier League, and naturally is already getting looks from some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including, apparently, Real Madrid. Spurs already have a history of selling their best players to Madrid, including most recently Luka Modric and Gareth Bale. However, there's a clear difference between those players and Harry Kane: according to Mauricio Pochettino, Kane doesn't want to leave.
"He is one of the best strikers in world and it would not surprise me if some big clubs were interested in him," said Pochettino. "Harry is not for sale and the good thing is that he wants to stay with us.
"Sometimes a coach can say that a player is not for sale but if a player wants to leave, sometimes he leaves. But Tottenham don't want to sell Harry wants to stay with us.
"He is in very good condition, he is fresh mentally and physically and we are happy with the way he is now."
This isn't the first time we've heard how happy Kane is at Spurs. He's a north London lad who came up through Tottenham's academy and broke through in spectacular fashion last season. He's said again and again that he loves Spurs and wants to be here a long time. But thanks to Bale, Modric, and even Sol Campbell, there's always that little part in the back of Spurs supporters' minds that wonders if he'll eventually break our hearts, just like those other guys did.
A lot can happen in football and we all know every player has his price. Even if a staggering bid comes in for Kane this summer there's no telling for sure what the club might do. But it's extremely comforting to be reassured, again and again, that our best, homegrown player still loves us as much as we love him.
