It was a great week for young Tottenham Hotspur players making their England debuts. Marcus Edwards scored for England in their U19 international friendly win over Bulgaria yesterday, and Josh Onomah scored for the U21s in a rout over Bosnia-Herzegovina earlier today.
First, let’s check in with Marcus Edwards. This was Afro Messi’s first match for the U19s after 23 caps with the U17s and three caps last season with the U18s. Edwards showed that he’s ready to compete despite being two years younger than most of the players on the pitch alongside him. England got a second goal very late from Chelsea product Dujon Sterling to hold off Bulgaria for a 2-1 victory.

This was also a debut for Joshy, who was making his first appearance for the U21s. He also scored on his debut in a 5-0 rout of Bosnia-Herzegovina, apparently playing at CAM While we haven’t been able to find highlight video of the goal yet, reports on social media are that it was well taken and Onomah played very good. UPDATE: we found a video of Joshy’s goal, and it’s a beauty. Check it out!
