Tottenham came within a crossbar and a miracle save from taking lead vs. Bayer Leverkusen

Erik Lamela will see Bernd Leno in his nightmares tonight

Tottenham Hotspur and Bayer Leverkusen are knotted in a scoreless draw at halftime of their Champions League group match at the BayArena. However, it was Spurs with the best chance of the half with this crazy sequence in front of the Bayer goal:

Vincent Janssen hit the crossbar with a header from the six-yard box then Erik Lamela’s flying scissor kick was denied by a miraculous save by Bernd Leno.

It was an absolutely insane that should’ve seen Spurs take the lead, but it wasn’t to be. All credit to Leno for being a great goalkeeper and keeping Spurs off the scoresheet for now.

It’s been a pretty even match so far with both sides having some decent looks but unable to breakthrough. It should be an exciting second half in this intense match-up between two very good sides with aspirations of making it to the Round of 16. This match could very well decide who does indeed get there.
