Watch Aleksandar Kolarov’s own goal give Spurs lead vs. Man City

Striker? We don’t need no stinkin’ striker.

With Harry Kane still out because of injury, Tottenham Hotspur are forced to start Heung-Min Son up top today against Manchester City. Where would the goals come from, they asked. Well it turns out, you don’t need a pure striker on the field to score goals when the other team can do it for you.

City defender Aleksandar Kolarov opened the scoring in this one for Spurs thanks to an own goal:

A cross by Danny Rose from the left flank was met by a flailing Kolarov, whose attempted clearance ricocheted past a helpless Claudio Bravo and into the City net for the match’s first goal. They don’t ask how, as they say. We’ll take it.
