Happy Sunday, Spurs fans! I’m sure many of you are still smarting a bit from yesterday’s scoreless draw at the Vitality. Not to worry, there’s still more football on today.

Remember the good old days of the Chelsea-United rivalry when Mourinho and Fergie stalked the sidelines, Paul Pogba was a United player, and the matches were hard fought and tempers ran extremely hot? Well, Fergie is gone, Mou has switched from Chelsea to United, Pogba is once again a United player, but both teams have fallen on hard times lately. What a world!

Today’s headliner is another clash between these two teams that are trying to claw their way back into the Premier League’s elite. And Chelsea’s actually pretty close: a win today puts them one point behind Arsenal and Liverpool with 19 points and potentially sets up a scenario where after week 9 there are five teams within a point of each other at the top of the table. Wild!

The early match is kind of fun too. Manchester City take on Southampton, and all’s not especially great in Pep-land. City haven’t won a game since September 24’s defeat of Swansea, and that slate includes draws against Celtic and Everton, and losses to Spurs and Barcelona.

Here’s your open thread to discuss both of these games. Have fun!
