If you haven’t heard the news, one of my favorite songwriters died yesterday: Leonard Cohen passed away at age 82.

This is the conversation I’m having with 2016 these days (joke credit to the Everywhereist):

Me: How are you, 2016?

2016: Gonna break shit.

Me: Huh?

2016: Killing Prince.

Me: What. Why. NO.

2016: David Bowie too.

Me: NO. STOP. WHY. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

2016: Leonard Cohen’s next.

Me: (sobs)

2016, man.

(Reminder, please, please, please: NO POLITICS IN THE HODDLE.)

A few favorite Cohen songs:

This is actually one of the first songs of his I ever heard and it’s still one of my favorites:

Probably my all-time favorite Cohen:

His most famous:

And the best cover of his most famous song:

Over to y’all: Favorite Cohen songs. Go.
