2016 is terrible, y’all.

If you haven’t heard the news, one of my favorite songwriters died yesterday: Leonard Cohen passed away at age 82.

This is the conversation I’m having with 2016 these days (joke credit to the Everywhereist):

Me: How are you, 2016?

2016: Gonna break shit.

Me: Huh?

2016: Killing Prince.

Me: What. Why. NO.

2016: David Bowie too.

Me: NO. STOP. WHY. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

2016: Leonard Cohen’s next.

Me: (sobs)

2016, man.

A few favorite Cohen songs:

When my wife and I were driving to the hospital at 3:45am to have our first child, we had a Leonard Cohen CD playing in our car. This is one of the songs I remember from that drive. Our daughter turns four on Monday. I’ll probably listen to some Cohen during the day.
