Why yes, we ARE doing a match thread for USA - Mexico! This is a hugely important match, and not just because of [REDACTED]. These two teams haaaaaaaaaate each other even at the best of times, and times being what they are, it could be a positively explosive environment. Hopefully in a good way.
Also, it’s a World Cup qualifier, and both teams really want to have a good start in the Hex.
Tottenham Hotspur sold DeAndre Yedlin to Newcastle this summer, but there’s now a new American international to watch! Cameron Carter-Vickers got his first call-up to Jurgen Klinsmann’s US Men’s National Team roster this cycle, and there’s even a possibility that he could get some meaningful game time at the senior level.
Klinsmann is probably eager to lock Carter-Vickers down, since technically he can still declare for England (though there’s little chance of that happening). CCV making it on the field against Mexico isn’t a given... but it’d be pretty neat if he did.
