Christian Eriksen is the latest Spurs player to get injured on international duty

The Dane has apparently picked up a minor injury.

International football should be banned. Surely all Spurs fans can agree on that, especially after the latest injury news filtering back to England from mainland-Europe. It’s not major, but it’s just cruel and unnecessary the way things have been going.

Christian Eriksen has joined a lengthy injury list at Tottenham after picking up a minor injury during Denmark’s 4-1 win over Kazakhstan on Friday.

The tweet says he is “slightly injured” and won’t travel to the Czech Republic with the rest of the team. So his international break is done.

This news is scary considering the amount of injuries Tottenham have suffered this season. It would really hurt to lose Eriksen right as Harry Kane and Toby Alderweireld are coming back to full health.

And, of course, Spurs fans have been burned by injuries picked up on international breaks before. I do not miss the days where so many of our players were being mismanaged by Marc Wilmots.

The game against Kazakhstan was a World Cup Qualifier, and this upcoming match is just a friendly. So you can see why this and Dembele’s injuries may not be that serious. Maybe Danish manager Age Hareide has just allowed his best player to head back to England early.

West Ham come to White Hart Lane for the last time ever in the league on Saturday. I’d bet that Eriksen will still be out there. It would be nice if he could score a goal like the second one he scored on Friday!
