Greetings, Hoddlers. Club football is back, and it feels great man! Tottenham Hotspur host West Ham in their first match in two weekends. We’ll have our usual preview stuff lately, but this is still a big match.
A London derby against West Ham doesn’t have the same feel to it as a North London Derby or a derby against Chelsea, but let’s not forget that while we think of West Ham as mostly a nuisance, the Hammers hate Spurs. (Don’t believe me? Watch “Green Street Hooligans.”)
Spurs’ current form hasn’t been fantastic, but even going without a win in their last seven they are heavily favored to win on Saturday at home. That said, West Ham are almost inexplicably bad considering they have Dimitri Payet and much of the same team they had last season. You might consider their recent form a blip and that they could revert to the mean. So if you want something to be nervous about going into Saturday, it’s that.
Here are a couple of links to get you going.
Pau Lopez made his debut for Spurs today in the PL2 against Arsenal. The game’s at HT right now and Lopez has kept a clean sheet thus far.
