Monday Hoddle of Coffee: Weekend Recap, November 21, 2016

Will this be a weekend we remember at season’s end?

I have some tactical analysis coming later this week, but for now three brief thoughts:

  • The slump we’ve been in lately has a “slump” rather a “collapse” because many key players have continued to be quite strong in most of the matches played during this run. Eric Dier, Jan Vertonghen, and Danny Rose all would have deserved full marks for their performance this week, even if the result had stayed 2-2 or been a 2-1 reversal. This hasn’t yet started to feel like the major slides that we saw under Harry Redknapp and Andre Villas-Boas.
  • Vincent Janssen has to get more aggressive in order to get more shots. He simply isn’t doing enough to give himself a chance to score.
  • Harry freaking Winks.
