It’s the Mido Derby in the Europa League.

Yesterday we learned that, once again, Spurs got about the kindest draw they could possibly ask for in a European competition. We aren’t flying to Israel or Russia midweek. We aren’t facing Athletic Bilbao or Borussia Monchengladbach. Instead, we have Belgian club KAA Genk. Here are two fun things you should know about our next-round opponents:

  • First, Kevin De Bruyne spent six years at the club before being bought by Chelsea (LOL).
  • Second, Spurs legend Mido (cough cough) also spent time at KAA Genk.

In other words, GET READY FOR THE MIDO DERBY Y’ALL. I’m sure it won’t be disappointing.

It’s not as if we’ve set a pattern of disappointment and under-achieving so far this season.

Oh.

Wait.
