Tottenham Hotspur beat Burnley on Sunday, winning consecutive Premier League matches for the first time since they reeled off four consecutive wins in September and October. That Spurs were able to do so while playing only okay was a good sign.
Usually consistent performers like Hugo Lloris, Kyle Walker, and, to a lesser extent, Harry Kane all looked a bit out of sorts. Fortunately, Harry Winks, making only his second Premier League start, and Danny Rose were there to pick up the slack.
Six points from two matches against stragglers Hull City and Burnley are exactly what Spurs needed two keep pace at the top of the league. The club probably need another four points or so from their next two league matches to keep putting distance between themselves and the pack of teams chasing the top six.
