It's been a slow transfer deadline day for Tottenham Hotspur fans, so let's stir the pot a little with some Saido Berahino news. The biggest bombshell dropped thus far was that Little Bear apparently left training early today, ostensibly due to injury.
This has naturally led to rampant speculation – a la helicopters flying over London or Peter Odemwingie driving to QPR – that he's finally off and will be joining another club, but West Brom is adamant that the departure was due to fitness and not due to transfer reasons.
During this window it appeared more likely that he'd be heading north to Newcastle, although after having a £21m bid rejected last week, that seems to have hit the skids as well. Despite many, many articles written about him possibly coming to Tottenham, it doesn't appear that Spurs have made any bids for Berahino yet, with the clock ticking down. Anything can happen, but at this point I think all signs are pointing to Spurs having given up completely on signing Berahino in this window.
Whatever. At this point, I'm pretty much over Berahino. If he comes, fantastic, but I'm not holding my breath.
