Thursday not so comfortable Thursday.

Happy Thursday, Spursland!

Sitting here in my apartment, window wide open, radiator blasting full tilt, I can't help but fixate on the subject of comfort. Coming off our sixth straight win in all competitions, fourth in the league, the beginning of the week felt great, and hell, why wouldn't it? We've pushed our position in the table even higher while keeping Arsenal under our thumb for another glorious week.

Enter Thursday and the realization that things maybe aren't all that comfortable. Sure, we've played some of the best stuff in the Premiership consistently, and have deserved all the recent accolades, but a loss on Sunday and things get tricky again, a little less comfortable.

To be clear, this isn't sour grapes. Make no mistake, we are in a wonderful spot and the season has been largely joyous; it only speaks to the incredibly high standard a champion must meet week in and week out to gain that honor. To be having these discussions at this stage of the season is a privilege, and one I don't take for granted.

Here is hoping, as the reality of the massive Sunday showdown with Manchester City grows near, that we are able to keep our nerve should we stumble a bit, refusing to let the fickle part of our brains to win out. We are about to enter the final stages of this years journey. We would do well to remember that our path is a marathon, however, and not a sprint.

And now for the "news":

Terry Dyson gives a nice interview| Express

He mentions how unfair it has been to past Tottenham teams to be compared to his double winning side over the year. Maybe this squad is the one to do it, though.

Counterpoint by Gary Mabbutt: 'this team can win the title'| Mirror

Fairness be damned, Dyson. Mabbsy says we're going to win the league!

Citizens round up, a look into their world| Manchester Evening News

Nothing to see here, just your normal Sergio Busquets and Neymar rumors, coupled with discussion of Pep Guardiola taking over for a lame duck manager.
