Spurs youngster Oduwa heading to Colchester on short-term loan

Nathan Oduwa is heading back out on loan. One month after ending his loan to Scottish club Rangers FC, the talented Tottenham Hotspur youth winger is heading to Colchester United in League One on an emergency one-month loan.

Oduwa, 19, has been a hot topic on this blog this season. He had a blistering start at Rangers under Mark Warburton, showing some dazzling skill moves and rainbow flicks that set the Scottish Second Division alight, but not always in a good way. He found himself targeted by some clubs for hard fouls, and over the first half of the season his playing time severely diminished. He returned to Tottenham at the end of the year, earlier than anticipated, and has been playing with Spurs' U21 squad.

Colchester has been the temporary home for a couple of former Spurs players in recent seasons: Kenneth McEvoy, now with York City, went on loan there at the beginning of last season, and former Spurs defender Bognani Khumalo also spent time on loan there last year before being released by the club in the summer. Spurs knocked Colchester out of the FA Cup earlier this season.

Now Oduwa has a chance to help the Ancient Aliens escape relegation. They're currently bottom of League One, and look likely for the drop, but if anyone can rainbow flick them out of the danger zone, it's Nathan.
