Tottenham's Rose, Dier, Alli expected back for Aston Villa match

The trio were rested for various reasons vs. Dortmund, but are all expected to start at Villa Park.

Did you remember that we have a league match tomorrow against Aston Villa? I kinda did. But we do! We travel to Villa Park on Sunday to take on a Villa team that only has pride to pla-aahahahahah I'm sorry I can't

The truth is, Villa are awful and are 99% getting relegated this season. Unless, y'know, they engineer one of the most amazing recoveries in EPL history and start it by knocking off Spurs. There's a non-zero percent chance it could happen, which is just enough to make me nervous.

The good news for Tottenham is that, in the process of getting shellacked by Dortmund in the Europa League on Thursday, they've manage to rest a few key members of the squad. The club announced via Twitter today that Dele Alli, Eric Dier, and Danny Rose are all expected to return to the starting lineup against the Villains.

Alli was forcibly rested against Dortmund as he was suspended for yellow card accumulation, and Poche decided Eric Dier shouldn't travel because Alli would be sad without his bestie for a few days. Rose, meanwhile, picked up a knock in the North London Derby draw against Arsenal and didn't travel to Germany, but is apparently now fine.

Spurs are five points behind Leicester in the race for the EPL title, and need to hold serve while hoping Lester screw up and drop points along the way. With tough matches at LIverpool, Stoke, and Chelsea coming up in the stretch run, Spurs can ill afford to drop points against a terrible Aston Villa side. If they do, they can pretty much kiss their title hopes goodbye. No pressure, though.
