Tottenham Hotspur put together perhaps its best and most complete match of the season on Sunday, scoring three times and putting visiting AFC Bournemouth to the sword. Harry Kane scored a brace, including a shocker just 45 seconds into the first half, and Christian Eriksen tapped in a third goal off of a rebounded Kane shot.
It was an outstanding overall performance from Spurs; Dele Alli and Kyle Walker each notched assists and Spurs looked every bit the title contenders that they are. Spurs were also imperious in defense, as center backs Toby Alderweireld and Kevin Wimmer made sure that keeper Hugo Lloris had barely anything to do the entire match, stifling nearly every attempt to go forward by the Cherries.
The win keeps Spurs five points behind league leaders Leicester City and in sole possession of second place in the Barclay's Premier League, and equally importantly, six points above arch-rivals Arsenal who are in third place. Tottenham still need Leicester to drop points in order to make up ground and nip them for the league title, an endeavor that will be made more complicated in two weeks when they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on April 2.
