Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen got an assist for one of two Nicolai Jorgensen goals as Denmark defeated EURO 2016 qualifiers Iceland 2-1 in an international friendly on Thursday.
Eriksen's assist came on Jorgensen's second goal of the match. Spurs' attacking midfield star had a pretty good look at goal off of a feed from Youssuf Poulsen but instead of shooting opted to play an easy square ball to Jorgensen who fired past Iceland keeper Ögmundur Kristinsson, putting Denmark up 2-0. Iceland later pulled one back. Eriksen was substituted off for Lasse Schöne after 60 minutes. It was the first match for new Denmark manager Age Hareide.
In other Tottenham-related international action, Josh Onomah scored and notched an assist for England's U19s as they defeated Georgia in a UEFA U19 EURO qualifier, Marcus "Messi with an Afro" Edwards scored a brace for England's U18 as they defeated Austria 3-2 in a friendly on Wednesday, and Spurs had three youngsters involved in England's U17 recent win over Turkey: Japhet Tanganga, Jaden Brown, and Samuel Shashoua. Nathan Oduwa was reportedly an unused substitute in Nigera's U23 squad yesterday as well.
