Happy Thursday, Spursland!
Or as happy as it can be after losing to West Ham. It's nice that the title race is officially pants on head crazy because most of the time a loss like yesterday would send us all into rapture. That doesn't seem to be happening, which is nice. I guess we can't be too upset about a team outplaying us for the first time in months.
Having the North London derby on Saturday helps to ease the sting of this one because there is literally no time to dwell, and, miraculously, everything is still completely up for grabs. Not too often we've been able to say that in our lifetimes after a tough loss.
And now for the "news":
Spurs turn in lifeless showing at Upton Park| ESPN FC
Obviously, Ben Pearce has never seen a Landon Donovan interview. One never uses the word "lifeless" quite the same. Also, come on. The whole squad wasn't lifeless, but West Ham made it difficult.
How Tottenham were beaten| Sky Sports
This seems mostly accurate. Get well, Mousa, you one man press breaker, you.
Gunners are dealing with injuries coming into the derby| The Independent
I wish I had something cheeky to say here, but I don't. It will be nice, however, that the matches against Spurs and Barcelona in the coming weeks at least instead of the massive mismatches they were when Arsenal were at full strength.
