Yay Clinton!

Clinton's back! Today Tottenham Hotspur tweeted training ground photos of Cameroonian midfielder/forward Clinton N'Jie in action at Spurs' training center in Enfield, the first time we've seen photographs of him training in six weeks.

Finally, real-for-sure proof that Clinton is getting fit again! Clinton injured his knee against Monaco in the Europa League back in December and hasn't been seen since. We reported that he was back in full training early last month, but apparently that was just him moving from indoor rehabilitation to light outdoor work. Now he's back with the full squad and completing his comeback.

It probably doesn't matter all that much for Spurs' run-in. Clinton wasn't a starter even before his knee injury, and it's unlikely that he'll see significant minutes at the close of the season. Still, if he can make it back to the point where he can be an impact substitute, that's fantastic. Clinton's directness and pace are a different skill set than those of just about anyone else at the club right now, and he might be a useful late-game sub to stretch defenses.

The injury was a real bummer as it cut short what was looking like a promising debut season for Clinton, but with luck he can use the tail end of the season as a springboard to a place in the starting lineup next year.
