It's kind of nice having the best Asian footballer in the world on your team. Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung-Min pulled in his third major award of the season yesterday, winning the Outstanding Achievement Award in Sport at the Sixth Asian Awards, held in London.
The Asian Awards are an annual awards ceremony that recognizes Asians and those with Asian backgrounds in a variety of different fields, including philanthropy, arts & entertainment, science, technology, and sports. Sonny was the sole winner of a sports-related category; other winners included Osman Yousefzada for Outstanding Achievement in the Arts, English DJ Naughty Boy for Outstanding Achievement in Music, and Mother Theresa, who was posthumously awarded a Founder Award.
This is the third major Asian sports related award for Son. He previously won the AFC International Footballer of the Year award, as well as the "Best Footballer in Asia" award from Titan Sports.
Looks like Sonny had a nice time, too after he snapped a selfie enjoying the awards ceremony in London with Austrian teammate Kevin Wimmer (on Wimmer's phone!). Congrats, Sonny! And lookin' good!
