The highlight of Tottenham Hotspur's 2016-17 preseason is without question their participation in the International Champions Cup, a friendly exhibition competition that will be held in Australia, China, and the United States in the last week of July.
Exhibition games are notoriously difficult to watch if you're a football supporter, but there's good news if you reside in the UK: today Sky reported that it will televise "up to 17" matches of the tournament in the United Kingdom. As of yet there is no announced television coverage in the United States.
Serie A champions Juventus on Tuesday, July 26, and La Liga powerhouse Atletico Madrid on Friday, July 29. Melbourne Victory are the fourth and final club participant at the Australia site. It's the second consecutive summer that Tottenham will have traveled to Australia for an exhibition match; last May Spurs traveled to Sydney to face Sydney FC in a rare post-season friendly match.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund will play at the China site, while the North America site will feature Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Leicester City, Celtic, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Chelsea, and PSG.
The new Premier League season begins on Saturday, August 13.
