Today signals the beginning of the second biggest (and some say most talent rich) international tournament in the world. Making the tournament more intriguing is the large number of players with Tottenham connections taking part. Both levels of intrigue are met with today's first round game, France v. Romania.
It's been upwards of an entire generation since France produced glory at the turn of the century and, looking at this team on paper, they may have no better chance at international silverware. Selfishly, seeing Hugo lift a trophy wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
Interestingly enough, the Euro opening weekend corresponds with the last weekend of the Copa America's group stage. We wanted football to distract us, and by George we've got it. Enjoy it while it lasts and best of luck to those with vested rooting interests.
And now for the "news":
No word on if he then was allowed to have his nachos.
I think he could just be relishing one of the last times he is interviewed when this bunch still are his teammates. Don't fear the South Coast, Ryan; embrace your destiny.
How does Hugo manage to always look so calm? His professional life is literally surrounded by chaos. He represents Spurs and France! Just think about that.
When I read this headline, I thought they were being mean to people from Spanish speaking or Italian speaking countries who learned English. Turns out "esports" is not a mispronounced word after all.
Enjoy your Friday everyone.
