They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. When Luka Modric left for Real Madrid it was a bitter pill to swallow, but after the initial depression wore off we learn to accept that a player who grew up as a Tottenham Hotspur player had gone on to play for arguably the most successful club in football history.
Modric's success as continued on at the international level as he's one of Croatia's leaders. During their first match at Euro 2016 against Turkey, it was the former Spurs man who stepped up on the big stage to score a phenomenal goal.
LUKA! What a goal. A thunderous volley from outside of the box in a huge international tournament. Nothing beats watching our man Luka scoring bangers. But then you remember he's not a Spurs player anymore and everything turns back to darkness and sadness.
