It turns out Tottenham Hotspur may not be the only club interested in Vincent Janssen after all. Reports in the Dutch media, including AD.nl, are reporting that Bundesliga club Wolfsburg have also made their interest in acquiring Janssen to AZ Alkmaar.
However, Tottenham still appear to be in the pole position for the Eredivisie striker who fired home 32 goals in all competitions for Alkmaar last season.
#thfc very much Janssen’s preferred option but still yet to make an official bid. Told things seem to be happening in “slow-motion”...

Janssen held talks in London Tues+Wed, goes on holiday Friday... No bid yet from Wolfsburg either, #thfc still in pole position.

In some ways Wolfsburg, who finished eighth in the Bundesliga this season, would be an interesting destination for Janssen, though he would be competing for minutes up top with players such as Bas Dost, Max Kruse, and Andre Schurrle. But most critically, there are two things Tottenham can offer that Wolfsburg cannot: Premier League football in London, and the Champions League.
However, seeing as how neither club has apparently made an opening bid, it appears we will be waiting a while before this story comes to any sort of conclusion.
