As the seconds ticked down in Portugal's 1-0 extra time victory over France in the European Championship, I tried to console myself with the knowledge that France missed out on glory not due to any failure of Hugo's, but because (Arsenal defender) Laurent Koscielny couldn't handle the Portuguese substitute striker Eder.
But no matter how I tried to talk myself into a response other than sadness, I couldn't do it. These were the facts: Hugo lost. Pepe won. There's no spinning that. So if things don't work out with Janssen.... GUESS WHO IS AVAILABLE. (UPDATE: Never mind. He signed with Flamengo.)
Speaking of Janssen, BeNeFoot worked with 11Tegen11 to put together a nice profile on Tottenham's transfer target.
Bielsa resigned at Lazio after 48 hours. Someone explain to me how Poche turned out so seemingly normal.
