The U19 Euros are smaller than their senior level counterpart, with only eight teams competing in two groups. The top two placed teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, with the finals taking place on July 24 in Rhein-Neckar-Arena in Sinsheim, Germany.
In addition, this tournament’s matches will also serve as the qualifying matches for the U20 World Cup; the top five teams from this tournament will also qualify for next summer’s tournament in South Korea.
Walker-Peters and Onomah are both Spurs players that are tipped to have bright futures with the club. Onomah in particular earned a number of games with the first team last season in a reserve role, and also started and played 90 minutes in Spurs’ opening leg Europa League loss to Dortmund, and a 2-2 FA Cup draw with Leicester City. Walker-Peters has yet to make his Tottenham first team debut but is considered a young fullback with enormous potential.
England are in a group that includes the Netherlands, Croatia, and France. Their opening match is against France today in Heidenheim. Kick-off is 7:30 p.m. (Germany), 6:30 p.m. (England), 1:30 p.m. (ET)
