It’s been a while since we’ve seen some of the youth play for Tottenham Hotspur, and the Tottenham mothership was kind enough to provide us an update video of a few of the kids in action. Tottenham defeated Reading 4-1 yesterday in Premier League 2 action (the newly rebranded U23 Premier League), and the highlights include a Marcus Edwards brace, as well as goals from Will “Oliver Twist” Miller and Shayon Harrison. Check ‘em out!
Two fine Marcus Edwards strikes and three goals in four minutes!

Our youngsters were on in the #PL2 yesterday...https://t.co/MSaAoqabPN
Marcus Edwards’ first goal in the 32nd minute is pretty sick, and his second one 15 minutes later where he placed it nicely just inside the left post isn’t too shabby either. But I think my favorite is Spurs’ final goal by Shayon Harrison where he essentially slide-tackles the Reading keeper to poke it into the back of the net. Ah, U23 football. You just don’t see that in the Premier League.
I like it when we get to see highlights like these from the reserve side. While it’s likely we’ll see a few players like Edwards and Harrison maybe make the jump to the senior squad in some early cup matches, it’s unlikely we’ll see much of them this season, so it’s fun to get a peek at what they can do.
It’s still early days, but Spurs are currently sixth in the PL2 Division 1 table with three points from two matches. Here’s the full squad that started the match against Reading.
