Max Meyer’s Instagram casts doubt on Tottenham transfer

I’m just full of good news today.

The big news last night was that Spurs were considering swooping for Schalke attacking midfielder Max Meyer. He’s a talented, dribbly attacking midfielder who has a great first touch and a short stature that’s been compared to Lionel Messi. Sounds great, right?

It is, but like most rumors in this window, it appears unlikely to actually happen. Here’s the latest post from Meyer’s Instagram account, posted just a half-hour ago.

Happy to be here!

Does that look like a post of a player who’s considering moving to London to play in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur? Yeah. Sounds to me like he’s pretty happy in Germany, doesn’t it?

But let’s talk about that praying hands emoji there at the end. Can we read anything into that one? Could it be that maaaaaaaaybe Schalke are actually considering selling but Meyer just doesn’t want to go?

Transfer hopes have been hung on far slimmer evidence than this, my friends.
