Mirror: Isco set to snub Spurs

The dream appears dead. More dead. Deader.

More updates on Isco, and the news isn’t especially good. The Mirror is reporting in their transfer tracker that the Real Madrid playmaker is set to reject a move to Tottenham Hotspur and head to Malaga on loan.

The Real Madrid man is set to depart the Bernabeu, as revealed by Mirror Sport in May, but was only ever likely to move to England if a permanent offer came in.

With Malaga offering Isco a return on loan, the midfielder is keen to play first-team football once again and go back to the club where he burst onto the scene after a £12million move from Valencia.

This is disappointing, but not entirely unexpected. I still find it pretty weird that he would only consider a move to England if it was a permanent deal and not a loan, especially since Spurs’ offer was reportedly a loan with a solid option to buy.

But whatever. Malaga’s a club with no Champions League and no ambition, but this way he gets to stay in Spain and be a big fish at a club that still loves him. Sucks for us, though.

Can something good please happen so I don’t continue this caffeine-fueled spiral into the depths of despair?

Update: Or maybe he’ll just stay at Real Madrid. In any event, he’s not interested in a loan to Spurs.
