Tottenham Hotspur released the traveling squad for their trip to Oslo, Norway for tomorrow’s friendly match against Inter Milan. While Spurs’ European Championship stars are back in the lineup and should see game time against Inter, there are still a number of notable names missing.

Most notably absent from the roster is Jan Vertonghen, who picked up an injury in the Euros this summer while on duty with Belgium. Spurs have tweeted photos of Jan in training, but the fact that he’s not making this trip casts doubts that he’ll be ready to start when the season kicks off against Everton on Saturday, August 13. Son Heung-Min is, of course, in Rio to play in the Olympics with South Korea.
New signing Victor Wanyama and attacking midfielder Josh Onomah are also missing from the roster, but we don’t know why. It could be injury related, a rest/rotation issue, or it might simply be that they’re both assured of a roster spot and Poche might want to give one more chance to some of the youth players.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Nabil Bentaleb and Nacer Chadli were also not named to the traveling squad. Bentaleb has already been told that he is surplus to requirements at Tottenham this season, and Chadli has been strongly linked with a move to Swansea City at some point in this summer’s transfer window. Also missing is DeAndre Yedlin, which may not be a good sign for his future at Tottenham.
Meanwhile, more youth get a chance to impress. Harry Winks, Marcus Edwards, Shayon Harrison, Anton Walkes, and Luke Amos will all travel to Norway. Reserve keeper Tom Glover, however, will not.
The match against Inter will kick off at 10:55 a.m. on Friday. The match will be televised on ITV 4 in the United Kingdom, but will not be televised in the United States.
