Tottenham Hotspur announce new deal for Tom Carroll

It’s raining contracts!

Transfer Season is in the rear view mirror, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that Tottenham Hotspur are done throwing around some money. We heard at the end of last season that Spurs wanted to reward the players currently at the club, and that’s exactly what’s happening. Christian Eriksen was recently rewarded with a nice boost and extension and Tottenham Academy graduate Harry Winks resigned just this morning. Spurs aren’t done yet, as one more announcement has come out today.

Spurs have announced that midfielder Tom Carroll has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2019.

Carroll is an academy graduate, much like his midfield teammate Winks. He joined Tottenham’s academy in 2008 and has seen loan deals sending him to Leyton Orient, Derby County, Queens Park Rangers, and Swansea City. It appears he has settled into the senior squad now as Mauricio Pochettino has trusted him with late substitutions in the midfield. Still just 24 years old, Carroll’s future is now much clearer than it was at the end of last season where nobody seemed to know what his actual contract situation was.

Tottenham are following through on their promise to reward their current squad, and the list of players who are due an extension and raise is getting slimmer by the day.

And, as always.....
