Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has found the back of the net for Denmark in their 2018 World Cup qualifying match against Armenia. After combining in the midfield with Middlesbrough’s Viktor Fischer, the Spurs man calmly slotted a finish into back of the net to give his country the 1-0 lead at half-time.

It’s Eriksen’s 10th career international goal and it puts Denmark in great position to pick up their first three points in World Cup qualifying. The Danes drew a manageable qualifying group alongside the aforementioned Armenia, Kazakhstan, Montenegro, Poland, and Romania.
You’d have to imagine that the Danish and Poland are two favorites in their groups. If Eriksen can find his best form, for both club and country, he could possibly lead his country to their fourth ever World Cup berth.
Let’s just hope his contract negotiations with Spurs allow him stick around by the time 2018 arrives.
