Tottenham team news: despite training boost, four still out for Bournemouth match

In practical terms, there are no squad changes from Spurs’ last league match.

Team news is out for Tottenham Hotspur’s return to Premier League action this Saturday against Bournemouth, and it’s about what you’d expect. Spurs welcomed long-time absentees Danny Rose and Erik Lamela back to full training this week, and midfielder Mousa Dembele has joined them on the training pitch, but neither of them are expected to feature in any meaningful way against the Cherries.

Meanwhile, Victor Wanyama still continues his rehabilitation since aggravating a knee injury in Spurs’ 2-1 loss to Chelsea in August.

That means some combination of Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko, Christian Eriksen, and Harry Winks in the center of midfield for both this Saturday’s league match and the mid-week Champions League tie against Real Madrid.

And Pochettino’s decision on who to start this weekend will tell us a lot about how he expects to set up his squad Tuesday night at the Bernabeu. Spurs will undoubtedly need to rotate ahead of the trip to Spain but nobody’s quite sure whether Mauricio Pochettino has a tactical surprise against the two time defending European champions. We’ll likely find out more on Saturday.
