It was a pretty good day for Tottenham Hotspur yesterday! But they weren’t the only Spurs team in European action yesterday — the U19s also picked up a big win as well, defeating Dortmund 3-1 in the UEFA Youth Cup.
Samuel Shashoua, Jaden Brown, and Kaziah Sterling all got on the scorer’s sheet yesterday, and you can watch all three of their goals in the video below, courtesy of the excellent @thfcacademy twitter account.

I love watching youth team highlights, even if it’s difficult to draw any major conclusions from this level of competition. But these are pretty good goals, especially Shashoua’s first goal and Sterling’s goal at the end of the clip. Shashoua also had two assists in the match.
The UEFA Youth League is basically the Champions League for U19s. The teams are divided into the same groups as the senior squads, and they play the same teams in the same order. Like the senior squad, Tottenham’s U19s have clinched progression into the knock-out round, but they haven’t yet clinched the group: they currently sit on 10 points after five games, one point ahead of Dortmund. They can clinch the group with a win over APOEL.
Sterling and Marcus Edwards currently lead Spurs with three goals each in the competition.
