Things just seem to be coming up Tottenham when it comes to injury rehabilitation. Erik Lamela is back and working up to full fitness after being out a year, and we just got some very good news about injured center back Toby Alderweireld possibly being back in a matter of weeks, instead of months.
The last major injured Tottenham player is Victor Wanyama, who hasn’t been seen since the beginning of the season, and it looks like there’s good news there too. Spurs tweeted a photo of Big Vic at Hotspur Way today, and noted that he’s returned to training on a part-time basis.

That’s HUGE for Spurs. Tottenham have really missed the big Kenyan in midfield, and while his absence has meant more minutes for Harry Winks, it’s also meant more minutes for Moussa Sissoko. Eric Dier has perhaps born the brunt of the absences to Toby and Victor, as it has meant that when he’s not playing in central defense, he’s playing in central midfield.
This isn’t a tweet that says we can expect Wanyama back by Wednesday, or even by the new year. However, it is confirmation that he is (probably) not out for the season and that we might expect him to maraud around breaking things in midfield at some point in the middle term. That’s reason enough to get excited.
