The nominees for the Premier League’s monthly awards are out, and Tottenham Hotspur are very well represented in for their accomplishments in January.
Harry Kane and Dele are both nominees for EA Sports Player of the Month. Kane notched five goals in January, including three against West Brom to make the list. Dele scored six in all competitions – five league goals and a goal against Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup — making him probably the favorite to take home the trophy. Harry and Dele are up against Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, Everton’s Seamus Coleman, and Swansea’s Gylfi Sigurdsson.
This is the third time this season that Mauricio Pochettino has been nominated for Manager of the Month — he was shortlisted in both September and December — but he has yet to take home the award in 2016-17. He’s up against Swansea’s Paul Clement, Stoke’s Mark Hughes, and Everton’s Ronald Koeman.
Finally, Harry Kane’s third goal, off of that beautiful chip from Dele, against West Brom is a nominee for January’s Carling Goal of the Month. However, it’s very likely that Kane will finish behind Olivier Giroud’s scorpion kick goal against Palace, Andy Carroll’s overhead kick (also against Palace), or Wayne Rooney’s fantastic free kick against Stoke.
Fans are encouraged to vote for their favorites, and fan votes make up a small percentage of the overall award tally. You can vote for the EA Sports Player and Manager of the Month awards here, and for the Carling Goal of the Month here.
