NCAA March Madness is right around the corner, as are the NBA Playoffs. But the basketball game everyone is talking about actually took place recently in a tiny garden in London.
Dele Alli and Eric Dier continued their bromance as they squared-off in a 1-on-1 showdown for the ages. Let’s hope they both stick to their day jobs as footballers.
Originally, Dele claimed to be the winner. He posted this cut of him scoring against some mediocre defense from Dier, claiming he’d given Tottenham’s CB “the run around.”
It’s maybe the most English setting possible for a basketball game. They’re in a cramped garden, playing on an 8-foot hoop, and not exactly dressed in typical hooping attire. Also they’re both pretty bad.
Dele may have been watching a bit too much Steph Curry. He thinks he’s got handles, but that ball protection is definitely lacking. I’m surprised he didn’t yell “Kobe” after hitting a shot.
After Dele’s post yesterday, Dier fired back today to give a full picture of how the game had really gone. Apparently, Dier was the comeback kid.
Dier’s defense wasn’t great, but Dele’s looks like James Harden in an All-Star-Game. Not much effort there, but we’ll forgive him with Southampton coming up at the weekend.
Also, why did they play to 10 and not 11? Who plays to 10? Noobs, that’s who.
Yes, they would probably struggle in a rec league of 5th graders, but we can at least appreciate Eric and Dele’s enthusiasm for American sports.
Also, we can appreciate their taste in music. Dele’s clearly been listening to the newest Future album. It bangs, you should listen to it too.
